Optimize Your Oil Change
Because a lubricant's service life has a lot to do with the stressing environment it is exposed to, the best way to tweak your oil-change interval is to make actual assessments of its condition and remaining useful life.

Quick Motor Change-outs
UL switch rated plugs and receptacles allow technicians to quickly connect/disconnect motors. Safety features protect from live parts and arc flash injury. NEC/NFPA 70E code compliance is simplified. Also ideal for welder connections.

Tip: Protect New Bearings against Contamination
New bearings should be kept in their original wrappings as long as possible and stored away from moisture where the temperature can be kept reasonably constant. It is typically not a good practice to flush the original lubricant from a new bearing. This could introduce contamination.

Analyzing Wear Debris

From the book "Oil Analysis Basics":

When components wear, they generate debris in the form of small particles. The lubricant is usually the first recipient of this wear debris due to its close proximity to the frictional surfaces where the debris was formed. Monitoring and analyzing the generated debris enables technologists to detect and evaluate abnormal conditions such that effective and timely maintenance decisions can be made and implemented.
